Clinical Metabolic Diagnostics

Detecting metabolic disease before it becomes a diagnosis.

Queensberry Consulting is developing Metabolica — a clinical point-of-care insulin diagnostic platform enabling clinicians to identify metabolic syndrome 5–10 years before standard markers become abnormal.

Queensberry Consulting Pty Ltd

We are a Margaret River-based technology and biomedical innovation company founded by Craig, Cinde, and Kirra Fisher. We are building Metabolica — a clinically validated, TGA-approved metabolic diagnostic platform for use by GPs, anaesthetists, exercise physiologists, and preventive health practitioners across Australia.

The problem

Fasting insulin is the earliest measurable indicator of metabolic dysfunction — detectable 10–15 years before diagnosis. Yet it is absent from every routine clinical blood panel in Australia. Clinicians have no accessible, real-time tool to measure it outside a laboratory.

Our solution

Metabolica combines a point-of-care insulin biosensor with wearable biometric data and an AI-powered metabolic risk prediction layer — giving clinicians a validated, accessible metabolic assessment outside a laboratory setting, for the first time.

This is not a wellness app — it is a clinical diagnostic tool.

Metabolica is progressing toward TGA classification as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). The biosensor hardware pathway uses the Lumos Diagnostics TGA-approved reader combined with the Vedalab CE-marked insulin lateral flow assay cartridge, with combined system validation and TGA approval as funded project deliverables.

Built in Margaret River. Scaled Nationally.

Queensberry Consulting has its roots in over two decades of technology innovation from regional Western Australia. The company was founded by Craig and Cinde Fisher in Margaret River — the same team behind one of regional Australia's most successful technology platforms.

BookEasy — 2003 to 2009

Craig and Cinde Fisher co-founded and developed BookEasy — an online reservation and management platform built specifically for Australian Visitor Centres. Starting in Margaret River, BookEasy scaled nationally to become the platform used by the majority of Visitor Centres across Australia, with over 150 centres on the system and a team of 25 staff. It was one of the first cloud-based booking platforms developed in regional WA. BookEasy demonstrated that world-class technology products could be conceived, built, and commercialised from a regional Australian base.

Queensberry Consulting — 2010 to present

Following BookEasy, Craig and Cinde established Queensberry Consulting as a technology and innovation consultancy. Over the following decade the company delivered IT strategy, application development, environmental data management, and software solutions across a range of industries in the South West WA region. In 2022, with Craig completing postgraduate research in biomedical science and the convergence of biosensor technology, wearable devices, and AI capability, the company pivoted its focus to health technology — and Metabolica was born.

From visitor centres to clinical diagnostics

The same founding team, the same regional WA base, and the same philosophy — identify a genuine market gap, build a technically rigorous solution, and scale it nationally. BookEasy proved the model works. Metabolica is the next chapter.

Metabolica

The first platform globally to combine real-time point-of-care insulin measurement, multi-device wearable biometric data, and AI-powered metabolic risk prediction in a single clinician-accessible platform.

1

Finger-prick insulin test

The Lumos Diagnostics POC reader measures fasting insulin from a single blood drop in under 5 minutes — at the point of care, no laboratory required.

2

Wearable data sync

Continuous glucose, HRV, sleep quality and activity data pulled via API from 15+ wearable platforms including Garmin, Apple Health, Oura, Whoop and Dexcom.

3

AI metabolic analysis

Combined insulin and biometric data is processed by a machine learning model generating a personalised metabolic risk profile, updated in real time.

4

Clinician dashboard

Results displayed in a secure clinician-accessible dashboard, enabling remote monitoring, trend analysis, and metabolic risk assessment over time.

Who uses Metabolica

GPs & Specialists

In-clinic metabolic screening and remote monitoring for at-risk patients.

Anaesthetists

Perioperative metabolic risk assessment — insulin resistance as a modifiable surgical risk factor.

Corporates

Workforce metabolic health baseline and evidence-based prevention program support.

Community Programs
